This role focuses on ensuring the timely hand-off of jobs and maintaining a commitment to safety and quality service.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage Area operations relating to construction services, outside plant and engineering services, and design services.
- Review and assign new projects to Outside Plant Engineers.
- Assist with project prioritization based on need and escalation.
- Prepare electronic Job Packets with all maps, plans, and information needed for thorough review by OPE.
- Conduct walkouts at sites with OPEs as needed for accurate project development.
- Assist with project permitting and obtaining permits to support projects and OPEs.
- Maintain constant communication with project customers and counterparts to manage expectations.
- Use the Comcast Job Tracking system for assignment and closure of projects.
- Review and manage all projects in the area from beginning to end.
- Problem-solve project-related issues, including design and start/end dates.
- Conduct forecast review and data entry related to projects and estimated dollars.
- Handle the purchase order process for projects, including non-standard items.
- Attend company and customer meetings as required.
- Manage up to 10 or more people, depending on the facility or area.
- Ensure final Construction project Job Packet completion with all required documents.
- Regularly evaluate employee performance and nurture employee development.
- Conduct company-wide safety practices, policies, and training.
- Review safety violation enforcement and disciplinary action.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
This position will be based onsite in Sicklerville, NJ or South Plainfield, NJ, whichever is closest.
Requirements
- Must have FTTH (Fiber to the Home) construction experience.
- Commitment to safety as part of day-to-day responsibilities.
- Ability to learn different city, county, and state permitting rules and guidelines.
- Valid US driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 70 lbs.
- Ability to read and understand maps, drawings, and diagrams for project build processes.
- Highly organized with strong planning and process skills to support daily work.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.).
- Ability to become proficient with customers’ “Host Systems.”
- Understanding of RF and Fiber network architectures.
- Ability to manage multiple staff members.
- Ability to interface with customers on/off-site as required.
- Proven leadership and effective project management skills (ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously).
- Practical and conceptual thinking related to project descriptions and needs.
- Excellent verbal, written, phone, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment.
- Dependability and flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.
- Ability to be on-call as needed.
- Ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
- Sales experience relating to construction projects.
- Negotiation and compromise skills.
Pay
$80,000 - $115,000/yr, depending on experience.
