Sr. Applied Research Engineer - OCE - Burlington MA

About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced scientist or engineer to join our Applied Research team and contribute to the advancement of next-generation technologies within our Corneal Health (CH) product portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Drive early-stage innovation, technology development, and translational research efforts aimed at expanding the capabilities and clinical impact of our ophthalmic medical device platforms.
• Work at the intersection of experimental science, engineering, and clinical translation to develop new technologies and methodologies.
• Design, implement, and translate imaging and computational approaches that enable improved understanding and quantification of corneal structure and biomechanics.
• Bring deep expertise spanning experimental system development, signal processing and algorithm design, and biomechanical modeling, with a strong interest in translating research concepts into robust, validated technologies.

Requirements

A PhD in Engineering, Physics, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field is required, with relevant postdoctoral experience preferred. Experience in ophthalmic medical devices, imaging, and computational modeling is essential. Strong programming skills in Python, MATLAB, or similar languages are required, along with a solid understanding of biomechanics and signal processing.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in developing and validating novel technologies, with a demonstrated ability to translate research findings into practical applications. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are essential, as is the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
