Sr. Application Engineer

About the role

This position performs engineering work related to researching, designing, and developing products, components, or portions of major projects. This position is crucial in interpreting and calculating equations efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Manage product design and development for new or existing products
  • Specify, size, and select subsystem components for power systems designs according to Engineering Guidelines
  • Selects correct design concepts and fundamental technology used for new products or improvements for existing products
  • Test and validate top level power systems as well as sub-level power system components
  • Review and verify product performance via testing
  • Assess reliability performance of product versus requirements
  • Analyze proposals submitted to determine if benefits derived and possible applications justify expenditures
  • Complete work according to standard engineering principles and practices
  • Follow the company ERP procedures and maintenance as documented
  • Follow the company quality management procedures as documented
  • Promote a compliance culture in area of responsibility and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls Royce Code of Conduct
  • Perform special projects as required

Requirements

  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S without sponsorship.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in the Automotive, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering plus 5 years’ experience in Automotive, Mechanical or Electrical engineering or 9 years Automotive, Mechanical, or Electrical engineering experience
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with any of the following systems: automotive, power generation, energy storage; Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities; Excellent organizational, planning and follow-up skills; Strong project management experience; Strong interpersonal skills; Strong oral and written communication skills; Strong presentation skills; Proficient with PC and MS Office Suite

  • Experience with any of the following systems: automotive, power generation, energy storage
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent organizational, planning and follow-up skills
  • Strong project management experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Proficient with PC and MS Office Suite
