This position is classified as Onsite. Employees in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite, including all production and maintenance employees essential to product development. Commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.
Responsibilities
- Manage the purchase and/or sourcing process, including RFQ and cost data for production and development, within an agreed strategy to meet cost, quality, and delivery targets.
- Handle supplier set-up, including necessary approvals in compliance with company standards.
- Maintain price books and analyze cost variances.
- Support standard cost-roll activities.
- Analyze demand and pricing to determine appropriate order quantities and batch sizes.
- Support design activities and execute related plans.
- Identify cost reduction opportunities and develop strategies to realize savings.
- Lead or support the implementation of cost reduction initiatives.
- Collaborate with potential suppliers and program teams to reduce weight and cost, and address quality issues.
- Ensure suppliers are ‘rate ready’ to support production.
- Manage effective communication with tactical counterparts.
- Use knowledge of supplier dealings to contribute to commodity strategy.
- Execute commodity strategy.
- Manage special projects and work collaboratively with stakeholders and counterparts from value streams.
- Multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
- Uphold high ethical standards in all internal and external dealings.
- Work collaboratively as a team player.
- Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
- Adhere to all EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) practices and standards, including proactive reporting of observed hazards.
Requirements
- Theoretical to advanced knowledge of the work area, typically obtained through a university degree combined with experience.
- Practical knowledge of RTX projects, programs, or systems, with the ability to make enhancements and apply them in daily work.
- For engineering or other technical positions: A degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience (unless prohibited by local laws/regulations).
