Our Team

We are a small, mixed-skill team of developers, analysts, and data specialists responsible for Promega's enterprise analytics platform — spanning Power BI reporting, data integration, and a modern cloud-based data platform built on Azure Databricks. We work directly with business stakeholders across the company to turn complex data into decisions, and we are currently expanding into AI-powered conversational analytics. The team operates with a high degree of ownership and autonomy — this is not a place where you wait to be told what to do.

Your Role

You will own the design and delivery of Power BI solutions across assigned business domains — working directly with stakeholders to understand their needs, building models that are accurate and scalable, and making sure the people who use your reports actually trust them. At the same time, you will be a key contributor to our Conversational Analytics initiative, helping business users query data in natural language through AI-powered interfaces built on top of our semantic layer. This is not a support role or a report factory — you will have real influence over how analytics gets built and adopted at a global life sciences company, and the work you deliver will be visible at many levels of the organization.

Job Objective

As a Sr AI Analytics Developer, you will design and deliver data models, Power BI reports, dashboards, and conversational analytics solutions that support Promega's global business requirements. You will independently own the delivery of reporting solutions in your assigned business domains — partnering directly with stakeholders, applying team standards, mentoring less experienced developers, and contributing to the adoption of emerging AI-powered analytics capabilities, including natural language interfaces to business data. This role sits at the intersection of traditional BI development and next-generation conversational analytics.

Core Duties

• Power BI & Reporting Development: Design and deliver reports, dashboards, and semantic models in Power BI. Build solutions that span a broad spectrum of user needs — from executive-level summary views to self-service exploration for advanced users. Ensure models are performant, governed, and scalable.
• Conversational Analytics Development: Design, build, and maintain conversational analytics interfaces that allow business users to query data in natural language. Work with LLM-based tooling (such as Claude) and Power BI semantic layer integrations to deliver AI-powered Q&A experiences. Evaluate and recommend emerging tools in this space.
• Requirements Definition: Conduct requirements gathering with business stakeholders to define reporting needs, KPIs, and conversational query use cases. Translate ambiguous business problems into clear technical specifications, engaging team leadership when scope spans multiple teams or systems.
• Data Modeling: Create and maintain underlying data models using Kimball dimensional design principles or equivalent. Understand source system structures (SAP, CRM) well enough to design accurate, trustworthy models.
