About the role

The Sr Analyst, System Testing II (Cloud Senior Test Analyst) will join the TPA Cloud Migration team, dedicated to migrating applications to the CMS AWS Cloud. This dynamic team leverages a wide range of skills and expertise, operating across different functions and projects in a flexible, innovative environment. The role is highly preferred onsite, with partial and remote candidates considered. Interviews will be onsite for local/partial candidates and remote for non-local candidates. Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., with possible overtime as needed to meet project timelines.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute test cases for the TPA portal within the CMS Cloud (built on AWS), using TestRail to manage test plans, track execution, and document results.
  • Log defects and align testing tasks with Agile sprints using JIRA.
  • Collaborate with developers and business analysts in daily stand-ups, using Confluence to maintain test documentation, user stories, and release notes.
  • Validate application behavior in cloud environments, support compliance testing, and ensure updates meet CMS security and performance standards before deployment.
  • Complete supportive administrative and lead activities related to cloud testing, including collecting and analyzing data for software process evaluation and continuous improvement.
  • 40% of time: Complete administrative and lead activities such as attending sessions with customers, planning and disbursing projects to team members, completing reports, resource planning, preparing documentation, and developing processes.
  • 40% of time: Manage projects to ensure coordination, documentation, reporting, and customer communication requirements are supported. Mentor and provide guidance to testing staff.
  • 20% of time: Perform quality checks across various IT functions to ensure quality standards, procedures, and methodologies are followed. Define and analyze quality assurance metrics (e.g., defects, defect counts, test results, and test status) and make recommendations to clients on improving operational workflows.
  • Design, develop, and execute test strategies, test cases, and automated scripts for cloud-native, containerized, and legacy applications migrated to AWS cloud.
  • Lead functional, regression, integration, system, failover, and performance testing across multi-tier AWS Cloud environments.
  • Implement automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub, AWS CodePipeline).
  • Conduct security and compliance testing (HIPAA, FedRAMP, NIST-800) and 508/WCAG compliance testing (e.g., using Burp Suite/OWASP ZAP, WAVE).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other job-related degree, or 4 years of job-related work experience, or 2 years of job-related experience plus an associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other job-related degree.
  • 9 years of IT experience, including experience developing test plans and/or test matrices.
  • Agile Testing and CI/CD Experience.
  • Cloud-hosted application(s) testing experience.
  • Experience identifying, tracking, and managing bugs using TestRail, JIRA/Confluence, or ALM.
  • Proficiency with testing tools (e.g., Selenium Grid, JUnit, TestNG, Apache JMeter, SoapUI, and Postman).
  • Strong knowledge of lift-and-shift, re-platforming, or cloud migration testing.
  • Strong knowledge of REST/SOAP API testing, SQL, and test automation frameworks.
  • Solid understanding of test data strategy, version control, defect triage, and test metrics reporting.
  • Experience with AWS Services: EC2, IAM, S3, RDS/Aurora, Lambda, API Gateway, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, CodeBuild.
  • Medicare experience.

Schedule

8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., with possible overtime as needed to meet project timelines.
