About the Role

A Senior Analyst on the Sales & Commercial Capabilities team will be a key driver of growth for General Mills, partnering with Sales, Trade Marketing, Category, and Strategic Revenue Management (SRM) teams across US and international markets. This highly collaborative role requires strong analytical skills and the ability to translate data into actionable strategies. You will work closely with business partners to optimize volume, pricing, product mix, trade promotions, measure effectiveness, and assortment strategies, contributing to the development and implementation of innovative solutions that lead to growth.

Responsibilities

  • Translate business needs into executable plans by designing, building, and implementing analytical solutions for Customer Teams.
  • Design and deliver high-impact reports, analytical tools, and customized business analytical solutions focused on OU/Customer, ensuring efficiency and accuracy while eliminating duplication.
  • Leverage Panel, POS, and Syndicated data to understand trends and proactively identify opportunities for business improvements within given market/customer/category.
  • Assess trends and market performance, providing analysis of executional performance, evaluating market conditions, and summarizing with proposed solutions and actions.
  • Provide business solutions to customer/trade strategy, category, and SRM activities with a concise recap of data and information to form an opinion of business conditions.
  • Demonstrate effective stakeholder management to deliver output in a storytelling format (What, So What & Now What).
  • Take personal accountability and ownership for results, deeply understand consumers, deliver market-leading innovation, and prioritize what is important.
  • Meet annual sales targets by leveraging the GMI trade strategy and maintaining accurate planning and spending information in the trade planning system.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to assess national trade strategies and optimize GMI resources.
  • Effectively leverage and market cross-functional capabilities.
  • Consistently deliver high-quality work on time and within budget (Execution Excellence).
  • Maintain data accuracy through thoroughness and attention to detail (Data Integrity).
  • Proactively identify and implement process improvements (Continuous Improvement).
  • Manage multiple projects effectively, from scoping to completion (Project Management).
  • Support and train team members (Mentorship).
  • Brand yourself as a Subject Matter Expert and establish credibility and expertise in multiple areas (Stakeholder Influence).
  • Understand client needs and develop comprehensive solutions by providing a holistic problem-solving approach.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Identify and capitalize on new opportunities (Business Development).
  • Navigate through the organization to develop business understanding and cross-functional touchpoints for effective communication and influence.

Requirements

  • 4-6 years of relevant Business Reporting, Analytics & Visualization experience in CPG (or related) industry.
  • 5-6 years of Business Reporting, Sales & Trade Analytics, Revenue Management & Visualization experience; Data Modelling preferred within CPG industry.
  • Full-time Master’s or equivalent degree from an accredited university.
  • Strong command of oral and written English.
  • Ability to multitask—work effectively across a host of tools/databases and software/platforms to manifest superior results.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Data Insights & Analysis Expertise: Proficient in syndicated data sources like Nielsen, IRI, etc.
  • FMCG/CPG Experience: US & International market knowledge in Sales, Revenue Management, Marketing, and Finance.
  • Revenue Management Skills: Prior experience preferred.
  • Strong selling and communication skills (Communication & Influence).
  • Ability to manage ambiguity, take initiative, and leverage technology (Problem-Solving & Innovation).
  • Tech & Data Savvy (Leads Innovation).
