About the role
To provide customers with the highest quality service by ensuring consistent customer service and shipment processing for the timely movement of freight/cargo. This role requires recurrent compliance training and involves developing and maintaining strong relationships with customers' front-line personnel across various operating divisions and subsidiaries.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, analyze, and submit documentation to agents and clients to ensure compliance with all applicable transportation laws and regulations.
- Anticipate, identify, and resolve problems that could delay the timely release or movement of freight.
- Maintain relationships with correspondent brokers, T&B, and other service providers to ensure agents exceed customer service requirements.
- Resolve banking and letter of credit problems, and advise customers on payment terms.
- Resolve billing issues and ensure accurate invoicing and vendor payments.
- Complete accurate data input or corrections into computer files.
- Obtain payment on delinquent accounts and complete accounting adjustment forms for review.
- Develop rates and provide quotes for freight movement; research and negotiate Air Carrier and CFS rates.
- Resolve billing issues on the customer’s behalf and generate special manual reports to meet customer needs.
- Participate in Quarterly Business Review (QBR) meetings with customers via phone or in person.
- Review Letters of Credit and handle ITAR, out-of-gauge, and hazardous material (Hazmat) shipments.
- Monitor, address, and delegate all iServe cases.
- Work with management to identify workflow and productivity issues.
- Assist with training within the department and in account implementation, including developing SOPs with customers, operations, and sales.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Three (3) years of experience in freight forwarding or logistics, or equivalent work/field experience.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Strong customer service, organizational, and communication (written/oral) skills.
- Strong knowledge of freight forwarding or logistics.
- Strong knowledge of air export regulations, including export and Schedule B tariff classification.
- Understanding of banking requirements for international trade.
- Knowledge of regulations regarding dangerous goods shipping and foreign regulations.
- Familiarity with handling hazardous materials.
- Knowledge of import/export regulations related to DOT.
- Basic math skills for metric conversions and currency evaluations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional experience or certifications in logistics, freight forwarding, or related fields.
Pay
This role offers a starting hourly pay range of $32.21 – $48.30 USD. Actual starting pay is determined by experience, market level, and other job-related factors permitted by law. Eligible employees may receive additional pay, premiums, or bonuses.
Schedule
7:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Tuesday through Friday; 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM on Saturday.
