About the role

This role provides portfolio oversight for the E&S/S Programs Planning Unit. Responsibilities include leading program-level profitability reviews and recommending actions on rate, non-rate, mix, and reinsurance; owning core pricing assumptions and methodologies for assigned programs; building and maintaining pricing and monitoring tools; and acting as a strategic partner to Program Underwriting, CFO, and DDS.

Responsibilities

  • Lead program-level profitability reviews and recommend actions on rate, non-rate, mix, and reinsurance.
  • Own core pricing assumptions and methodologies for assigned programs, aligned to Reserving, Planning, and target CR / PLR.
  • Build and maintain pricing and monitoring tools (rate/retention, AvE/AvT, segmentation) using BDX and internal data.
  • Act as a strategic partner to Program Underwriting, CFO, and DDS, turning analytics into clear recommendations and supporting new program vetting.

Requirements

  • ACAS credential
  • Background in the MGA/MGU space, reinsurance a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and solve complex insurance and actuarial challenges.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with strong analytical and collaboration skills.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, data science or similar background requiring modeling, programming or quantitative analysis.
  • Generally attained ACAS and is working towards FCAS or recently attained FCAS.

Skills

  • Detailed familiarity with business operations, systems, and actuarial methodologies.
  • Adept at complex actuarial techniques and work independently to combine advanced actuarial and business knowledge to provide high-level analysis.
  • Expertise to provide consultation and recommendations on deliverables and maintain detailed documentation of actuarial models and analyses.
  • Technical expert of actuarial methodologies allowing the ability to source and manipulate data within standard requirements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, analytical software and programming languages.
