Sr. Accounts Payable Specialist

This role offers exposure to full-cycle Accounts Payable processes, Procurement, and Accounting teams, as well as multi-state operations spanning Texas, Montana, Wyoming, Washington, and Hawaii. You will have opportunities to learn and grow into areas such as SAP and Vendor Invoices Management (VIM).

Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate and timely entry of invoices, including resolution of complex transactions through troubleshooting and root cause identification.
  • Work interactively with all P2P stakeholders (vendors, procurement, business contacts).
  • Provide guidance and training to junior accounts payable staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
  • Generate and analyze accounts payable reports, providing insights and recommendations for process improvements.
  • Assist with ad-hoc finance projects and initiatives as needed.
  • Support month-end close activities.
  • Perform account analysis and reconciliation.
  • Own the creation, distribution, and analysis of KPIs and data requests.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and consistent adherence to the company’s policies and procedures.
  • Provide backup support for cash clearing activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or sponsorship.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant AP experience or shared service experience.
  • Proficiency in English with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to learn industry-specific terminology and processes.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word; experience with complex spreadsheets is preferred.
  • Experience with SAP, VIM Open Text, or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively across departments.
