Sr. Accountant, Fixed Assets

About the role

The Senior Accountant working within our Fixed Assets team will manage and account for infrastructure assets, supporting the development and deployment of next-generation products like Robotaxi and Optimus.

Responsibilities

• Reviews asset requests and Capex POs to ensure proper account coding and compliance with capitalization policy
• Serves as cross-functional liaison for fixed asset transactions, Asset owners, & PO requesters. Performs asset approvals, capitalization, transfers, and disposals
• Analyzes AUC (CIP) assets/projects, capitalizes and places assets in service when projects are complete. Analyzes aging AUC assets and prepares financial metrics for monthly cycle review
• Prepares journal entries, account analysis and reporting, including all infra-asset schedules for interim and EOQ presentations
• Works closely with internal departments (i.e. production, operational teams, FP&A, and tax) and supports Annual Confirmation
• Acts as primary point of contact and system administrator for the Tesla Infra Accounting system

Requirements

• Degree in Accounting, or equivalent experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proven ability to work effectively with others and build partnerships
• Experience and strong understanding of internal controls
• Maintain flexibility in a fast-paced environment, and continuously evolving to meet changing business needs
• Quick learner and problem solver when faced with new issues or challenges
