Responsibilities

  • Create and record journal entries to maintain complete and accurate general ledger activity.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit card transactions, and other balance sheet accounts on a recurring basis.
  • Contribute to month-end close by preparing supporting schedules, reviewing activity, and resolving variances.
  • Track and post accruals, deferred revenue, and other adjusting entries in alignment with accounting requirements.
  • Review transaction coding for accuracy and correct classification across financial records.
  • Support payment approval workflows and help ensure timely processing of bills and disbursements.
  • Aid in bi-weekly payroll activities, including related payroll and employee benefits journal entries.
  • Import financial information into Aplos and help maintain clean, reliable accounting data across systems.
  • Maintain oversight of incoming revenue from cash, card, and electronic payment sources while reconciling activity tied to preschool and fund accounting operations.
  • Offer accounting support for the implementation of Ramp expense management processes as needed.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of accounting experience in a Senior Accountant, Accounting Manager, or comparable position.
  • Strong background in general ledger accounting and full month-end close responsibilities.
  • Proven ability to prepare journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Excel, including practical experience using Pivot Tables.
  • Comfortable working within accounting systems and handling data imports and exports.
  • Experience supporting payroll processing and benefits-related accounting is preferred.
  • Exposure to fund accounting is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Aplos and/or Ramp is highly desirable, though not mandatory.

The ideal candidate will bring strong general ledger expertise, sound reconciliation skills, and the ability to work effectively across payroll, revenue, and accounts processes.

Skills

General ledger accounting, full month-end close responsibilities, journal entry preparation, accruals and account reconciliations, Excel proficiency, and familiarity with accounting systems and data management tools.
