About the role
The Senior Accountant within our Fixed Assets team will manage the end-to-end accounting of infrastructure assets—from data centers to manufacturing facilities—supporting next-generation products like Robotaxi and Optimus. This role covers the full asset lifecycle, including acquisition, tracking, depreciation, valuation, disposal, and reporting, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and financial integrity.
Responsibilities
- Review asset requests and Capex POs to ensure proper account coding and compliance with capitalization policy.
- Serve as a cross-functional liaison for fixed asset transactions, asset owners, and PO requesters; perform asset approvals, capitalization, transfers, and disposals.
- Analyze AUC (CIP) assets/projects, capitalize and place assets in service upon project completion; analyze aging AUC assets and prepare financial metrics for monthly cycle review.
- Prepare journal entries, account analysis, and reporting, including all infrastructure-asset schedules for interim and EOQ presentations.
- Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., production, operational teams, FP&A, and tax) and support Annual Confirmation.
- Work with each FA region to identify manual processes and convert them to automation, reducing manual work within the Infra Accounting team.
- Act as the primary point of contact and system administrator for the Tesla Infra Accounting system.
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting or equivalent experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.

Pay
Expected compensation: $76,000 - $144,000 annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits. Pay may vary based on market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package may include additional elements dependent on the position offered.
