Sr. Accountant/Controller

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely and accurate financial statements are available leveraging QuickBooks and supporting systems.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
• Audit client invoices to ensure billable work, expenses, and reimbursable items are captured accurately and on time.
• Using internal software, perform revenue assurance activities including project and field documentation review.
• Oversee all reconciliations including asset and liability accounts.
• Perform monthly financial close activities, including reports, journal entries, and supporting schedules, supported by oversight from the CEO.
• Provide budgeting, forecasting, and project-level financial tracking to support the CEO, COO, and VP of Strategy and Client Relations.
• Collaborate with external CPA and other tax or accounting professionals as needed.
• Monitor deadlines for estimated tax payments, reporting requirements, and other recurring financial obligations.
• Drive accounting and administrative process improvements.
• Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in handling financial information.
• Support additional administrative or financial tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field.
• Three or more years of accounting experience preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of accounting principles.
• Experience with QuickBooks Online is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google, and other Microsoft Office applications.
• AI aptitude a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with leadership and project staff.
• Exceptional integrity and ability to handle multiple tasks and safeguard confidential information required.
• Process-oriented mindset with an interest in improving/simplifying systems and workflows.
• Able to pass a background, drug/alcohol test without issue.
