This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr. Accountant - Contractor based in United States. This role is designed for an experienced accounting professional who can combine technical expertise with strategic client advisory. You will manage complex accounting engagements while helping clients improve financial reporting, systems, and operational efficiency. The position places a strong emphasis on Sage Intacct, FloQast, QuickBooks Online, automation, and multi-entity accounting environments. You will lead month-end and year-end close activities, financial analysis, system implementations, and client onboarding initiatives. Beyond accounting execution, you will act as a trusted advisor, providing Controller-level insights and recommendations that support better business decisions. You will also mentor accounting professionals, promote best practices, and collaborate with globally distributed teams and stakeholders. Accountabilities Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and related financial close activities.Prepare and analyze financial statements, management reports, forecasts, and other financial information to support client decision-making.Maintain accurate, audit-ready financial records while ensuring compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and applicable financial requirements.Serve as a trusted financial advisor to clients, providing data-driven recommendations, fractional Controller-level support, and guidance on financial operations.Lead client onboarding, Sage Intacct implementations, accounting system migrations, and financial technology integration projects.Analyze client accounting environments and optimize their use of Sage Intacct, QuickBooks Online, FloQast, and other cloud-based financial tools.Develop and deliver client training on Sage Intacct and related systems to improve adoption, efficiency, and long-term success.Conduct quarterly financial reviews and translate financial results into actionable recommendations for improving business performance.Leverage automation, process standardization, reconciliation tools, and internal controls to improve accounting accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness.Support payroll processing, sales tax filings, audits, tax documentation, and other financial compliance activities as required.Maintain effective collaboration across geographically distributed teams and accommodate cross-regional meetings and time-sensitive priorities.Maintain required billable hours while partnering with sales and account management teams to align delivery with client scope and identify opportunities for expanded services.Mentor Staff Accountants and Senior Staff Accountants through technical guidance, work reviews, process training, and knowledge sharing.Act as a subject matter expert on Sage Intacct, QuickBooks Online, FloQast, and other cloud-based accounting technologies.Participate in internal accounting meetings and collaborate with operations, finance, and leadership teams to strengthen processes and support organizational decision-making. Requirements 10+ years of accounting experience as a Senior Accountant, Senior Staff Accountant, or Senior Controller, preferably within outsourced accounting, advisory services, or a CPA firm.Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CPA eligibility is preferred. In lieu of a degree, 12+ years of relevant experience may be considered.Required expertise with Sage Intacct, including core financial modules, financial reporting, multi-entity environments, and advanced workflows.Required experience using FloQast for financial close management, reconciliation tracking, and workflow automation.Strong technical knowledge of multi-entity and multi-currency accounting environments.Experience with financial audits, payroll processes, sales tax filings, and financial compliance.Experience with QuickBooks Online and other cloud-based accounting or ERP solutions.Familiarity with ERP implementations, financial technology integrations, and accounting process automation.Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a proactive approach to identifying risks and improving processes.Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accurate, timely, and audit-ready financial reporting.Strong client-facing communication and advisory skills, with the ability to translate complex financial information into practical business recommendations.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple client engagements, competing deadlines, and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.Strong mentoring and collaboration skills, with the ability to provide technical guidance without direct managerial responsibility.Experience in SaaS, outsourced accounting, financial consulting, or other advisory environments is preferred.Comfortable working with globally distributed teams and adjusting schedules to support collaboration across multiple time zones.
