Sr Accountant
Pay rate: $55.68/hr • Duration: 2+ months • Location: Sacramento, California, 95814 • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM PST
About the role
Primary staff responsible for reviewing reimbursement draw requests submitted by County departments for the American Recovery Plan Act (ARPA). Staff will review on a sample basis costs being claimed to contracts executed. Contracts will be reviewed and compared to actual approval of projects for consistency. Costs will be reconciled to COMPASS (SAP) to ensure cost has been incurred and payment received. The role also includes compliance with U.S. Treasury rules and guidelines, Federal OMB guidelines, and contract terms.
Assist the accounting manager in compiling federal expenditures for SEFA reporting purposes and act as a liaison for any potential audits of the ARPA program. Assist in subrecipient monitoring in accordance with applicable federal requirements. Perform accounting-related duties as identified during the normal course of operations.
Responsibilities
- Review reimbursement draw requests for ARPA compliance on a sample basis.
- Compare contract terms to actual project approvals for consistency.
- Reconcile costs to COMPASS (SAP) to verify incurrence and payment.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. Treasury rules, Federal OMB guidelines, and contract terms.
- Compile federal expenditures for SEFA reporting.
- Serve as a liaison for potential ARPA program audits.
- Perform subrecipient monitoring in accordance with federal requirements.
- Handle additional accounting duties as needed.
Requirements
- 2–4 years of accounting experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- Proven knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and cost accounting.
- Demonstrated ability to assemble, analyze, and prepare reports covering complex financial data.
- Experience with accounts payable/receivable and automated accounting systems.
