Sr. Accountant

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Real Estate Accountant to support key accounting operations. This role is ideal for someone who can manage core financial activities, maintain accurate records, and help keep reporting timelines on track in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly close activities by preparing schedules, reviewing balances, and helping ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger through regular analysis, correction of discrepancies, and proper account classification.
• Prepare and record journal entries with supporting documentation to reflect financial activity accurately.
• Complete account reconciliations on a recurring basis and investigate variances to resolution.
• Perform bank reconciliations by matching transactions, researching exceptions, and clearing outstanding items.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to gather accounting information and support reporting requirements.
• Review financial data for accuracy and consistency while identifying opportunities to strengthen controls and processes.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in a senior-level accounting role with responsibility for core general accounting functions.
• Strong working knowledge of month-end close procedures and general ledger maintenance.
• Experience preparing journal entries and supporting documentation with a high degree of accuracy.
• Proven ability to perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
• Hands-on experience completing bank reconciliations and analyzing transactional activity.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage deadlines effectively.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
