Sr. Accountant

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting activities for several related entities, ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and consistently across each business.
• Prepare and analyze general ledger reconciliations, resolving discrepancies and maintaining the integrity of financial data.
• Record journal entries and support monthly closing tasks to help deliver complete and timely financial results.
• Maintain fixed asset records, including asset setup, capitalization, depreciation tracking, and schedule updates.
• Produce financial statements and assist with recurring and ad hoc reporting needed by management.
• Collaborate with the Controller on budgeting efforts, forecast updates, and financial analysis to support business decisions.
• Apply accounting policies uniformly across all entities and help strengthen compliance with internal standards.
• Recommend and implement improvements that simplify accounting workflows and increase efficiency in a multi-entity environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• At least 3 years of progressive accounting experience, including responsibility for core general ledger functions.
• Demonstrated experience with month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Ability to manage accounting work across multiple entities or business units; exposure to varied industries is preferred.
• Working knowledge of fixed asset accounting, including capitalization and depreciation.
• Construction accounting experience is helpful but not required.
• Strong proficiency with accounting software and Excel, with the ability to organize and analyze financial information effectively.
• Capable of handling multiple deadlines and shifting priorities in a fast-paced setting.
