Responsibilities
- Lead month-end close activities by preparing and posting journal entries that support accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts each month, investigate discrepancies, and resolve outstanding items with attention to detail.
- Review key financial statements and related reporting to confirm completeness, identify unusual trends, and support management insight.
- Work closely with credit, collections, and other stakeholders to help accelerate cash application and address billing or payment concerns.
- Partner with project leaders and departmental management to provide accounting guidance and support business decisions.
- Maintain accounting documentation and assemble supporting records needed for internal and external audit requests while helping uphold control requirements.
- Produce special analyses and custom reports for leadership, and provide broader accounting assistance as business needs evolve.
- Provide coverage for payroll and other accounting duties during team absences to help ensure deadlines are met.
- Cook with accounts payable on invoice coding and vendor payment follow-through to promote timely and accurate processing.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- At least 3 years of accounting experience in a hands-on role.
- Strong working knowledge of general ledger accounting, month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for analysis, reporting, and account support.
- Experience with ERP platforms; Oracle experience is preferred, and exposure to consolidation tools such as OneStream is a plus.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving ability, with a focus on process improvement and strengthening internal controls.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments and with various levels of leadership.
- Ability to travel occasionally, up to 10% as needed.
