Sr. Accountant
Responsibilities
- Prepare and consolidate financial reports to support accurate monthly and periodic reporting.
- Review account activity, reconcile key balance sheet and bank accounts, and resolve variances in a timely manner.
- Record and post journal entries while maintaining the integrity of the general ledger.
- Aid in month-end close activities and ensure deadlines are met with a high level of accuracy.
- Respond to audit requests by gathering documentation, answering follow-up questions, and supporting issue resolution.
- Participate in tax return review activities by organizing financial information and validating supporting schedules.
- Partner with accounts payable and other internal stakeholders to track requests, provide updates, and keep deliverables moving forward.
- Utilize advanced Excel capabilities, including formulas, reporting tools, and macros, to analyze data and improve reporting efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3–4 years of accounting experience in a corporate or public accounting environment.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas, data analysis functions, and macros.
- Strong background in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, bank reconciliations, and journal entry preparation.
- Experience supporting month-end close and preparing financial reports.
- Familiarity with ERP or accounting systems such as Sage Intacct, NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and remain responsive when priorities extend beyond standard business hours.
