Sr. Accountant

Responsibilities

• Direct monthly closing activities by preparing journal entries, completing account reconciliations, and producing accurate financial statements
• Oversee cost accounting records related to inventory, standard costs, and variance tracking to support informed business decisions
• Process payroll with a high level of accuracy while ensuring deadlines and compliance requirements are consistently met
• Work closely with management to contribute to budgeting efforts and financial forecasting initiatives
• Support year-end accounting activities and assist with audit preparation by organizing documentation and responding to information requests
• Monitor general ledger activity and resolve discrepancies across key balance sheet and income statement accounts
• Review bank activity and complete reconciliations to help maintain reliable cash reporting
• Cook with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions to promote accurate transaction recording and account balances
• Proven experience managing month-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, bank reconciliations, and overall account analysis
• Hands-on experience with payroll processing and maintaining accuracy in payroll-related records
• Familiarity with cost accounting concepts such as inventory valuation, standard costing, and variance analysis
• Background in manufacturing accounting is preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for analysis, reporting, and account support
• Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and asset or inventory tracking
• Ability to support budgeting, forecasting, and year-end audit activities in a fast-paced environment
