Sr. Accountant

Our real estate development client is seeking an experienced Sr. Accountant to join a real estate-focused accounting team in Oakland, California. This Long-term Contract position will play a key role in keeping entity and corporate accounting activities on track, supporting timely financial reporting, and maintaining accurate records across a portfolio of ownership structures. The ideal candidate brings deep knowledge of Yardi Voyager, strong general ledger expertise, and the ability to work effectively across multiple legal entities and reporting needs. This job is onsite 5 days and expected to pay $65-$75 DOE. Responsibilities:• Lead monthly close activities for the corporate entity and a portfolio of real estate-related companies, ensuring reporting deadlines are consistently achieved• Prepare and record journal entries, including payroll postings, intercompany activity, revenue recognition, and other recurring or non-routine transactions• Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and general ledger activity while resolving discrepancies and preserving accurate financial records• Review financial information received from third-party property managers, load applicable data into Yardi Voyager, and verify completeness and accuracy within internal books• Maintain accounting records for numerous LLCs and related ownership entities, including cash activity, debt payments, capital funding, and equity transactions• Generate management fee billings, track receivables, and record related accounting activity in accordance with company policies• Support consolidated and entity-level reporting by preparing schedules, workpapers, and financial analyses for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting cycles• Assist with audit, tax, lender, and investor requests by organizing supporting documentation and preparing requested accounting schedules• Monitor cash activity through online banking platforms and contribute to cash forecasting, ad hoc analysis, and workflow improvements that strengthen reporting accuracy• Help preserve data accuracy within Yardi Voyager and identify process enhancements that improve efficiency across accounting operations • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline• At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience with strong exposure to month-end close and corporate accounting• Hands-on experience with Yardi Voyager 7 is required• Prior accounting experience within the real estate industry, including work involving partnerships, LLCs, or property ownership entities• Strong command of general ledger accounting, journal entries, account reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and financial statement preparation• Knowledge of intercompany accounting, capital calls, equity contributions, and partnership accounting concepts• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and the ability to manage detailed financial data efficiently• Solid understanding of debits, credits, and core accounting principles, with the ability to work accurately in a deadline-driven environment Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
