About the role

A privately backed energy company focused on the transportation, storage, and export of crude oil is seeking an experienced Sr. Accountant to join its growing team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries while keeping the general ledger accurate and up to date.
• Review project expenses and ensure costs are properly capitalized.
• Work closely with project managers, procurement teams, and other departments to gather information and support project accounting.
• Track and record capital activity, including capital calls, distributions, and transfers.
• Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Handle monthly sales and use tax reporting.
• Assist with preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports related to project activity.
• Help support the annual audit by preparing schedules and coordinating with external auditors.
• Partner with the tax team to provide documentation and support for tax filings.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3+ years of accounting-related experience.
• Proficiency in Windows-based software, including Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize work effectively.
• Detail-oriented and organized in work.

Pay

$80,000 - $90,000 per year.
