Higginbotham is currently seeing a Sr. Accountant for the Louisville, KY office. This role will be responsible for the day-to-day internal operations of the Captive Department, and accounting team support as needed. Essential Functions and Tasks: Perform internal accounting operations of the captive department including:Processing invoices, recording deposits and recording monthly adjustmentsReview and reconcile monthly investment activityPrepare monthly financial statements and bank reconciliationsPrepare quarterly and annual regulatory reportsCoordinate tax return preparation with external CPA firmReview annual tax returnsDocumentation of workflows and standard operating procedures/internal controlsMonitor cash flows and cash requirementsCoordinate and supervise external audits of captivesDevelop and maintain proactive communication level with clients and other associates.Board and Association SupportAssist in new captive formationsAttend education classes, seminars, workshops, etc., in combination with individual study programs or industry periodicals to expand knowledge and skills of the unit.Establish, implement and monitor systems and procedures to:Ensure timely client reporting and communication;Comply with regulatory requirements;Develop and deliver a service plan tailored to clients' needs and coordinate the services with other US&C departments and vendorsStandardize file organization Skills and Abilities: Ability to work well with other employees, clients and business associates;Excellent communication (both written and verbal);Strong accounting skillsPublic Accounting and Audit ExperienceDetail orientedAbility to interpret insurance documentAbility to organize and complete multi taskStrong computer proficiency, especially in ExcelWillingness to complete additional duties and take on additional responsibility as the need ariseAbility to meet US&C hiring standards.
