Sr Accountant
About the role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Sr Accountant to support the company's financial accounting and reporting functions. This role will be responsible for ownership of key accounting processes including fixed assets accounting, inventory accounting, month-end close activities, financial reporting, and account reconciliations. The Sr Accountant will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with IFRS and company policies.
Responsibilities
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting in accordance with IFRS standards.
Perform month-end and year-end close activities, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and adherence to closing timelines.
Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and supporting schedules.
Analyze financial results and investigate variances to support management reporting and decision-making.
Serve as a key contributor to continuous process improvement initiatives, ERP system enhancements, automation projects, and AI integration efforts to drive efficiency, strengthen internal controls, and support business growth.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within manufacturing or inventory-intensive environments.
Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, financial reporting, month-end close, and account reconciliations.
Experience with inventory accounting and fixed assets accounting.
Ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and explain variances.
Experience working within ERP systems (SAP preferred).
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred
CPA designation or CPA-track candidate preferred.
Experience supporting ERP implementations, upgrades, or process transformation initiatives.
Knowledge of Power BI, data analytics, or automation tools.
Exposure to AI technologies and process automation within finance and accounting functions.
Project management experience and ability to lead cross-functional initiatives.
