About the role
Northern Trust, a Fortune 500 company founded in 1889, provides innovative financial services and guidance to sophisticated clients. The Account Manager (Partner) will manage complex fiduciary, investment management, estate settlement, guardianship, and custody accounts.
Responsibilities
- Covers account administration for complex client relationships
- Develops and maintains working knowledge of governing documents and account agreements
- Communicates with service partners and clients regarding service requests and issues
- Coordinates resolution of client issues and follows up with clients
- Engages the Client Support Services Team on account servicing events, such as account opening and closing, cash movements, and fee setups
- Aids in the account acceptance process, discretionary request analysis, compliance management, and annual account reviews
- Assists in the business development and client presentations for Trust Advisors, Estate Settlement Administrators, Guardianship Administrators, and Client Advisors
- Identifies service efficiency enhancements and process improvements
- Facilitates discussions and reaches decisions
Requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- In-depth functional and industry knowledge of personal trust, estate, guardian, and advisory services and products
- Analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Highly flexible and adaptable to change
- Technical skills and systems knowledge (e.g., Peoplesoft)
- A college or university degree and/or relevant work experience
- 5-7 years' experience in financial servicing or related experience/credentials preferred
