About the role
The Defense Account Manager develops and manages sales activities with prospective and existing direct customer accounts within the naval defense market. Responsible for the sale of pumps, valves and associated equipment including electric motors and actuators. Develops long-term relationships with key customer accounts. Acts as “voice of the customer” to the organization.
Responsibilities
- Primary Point of Contact for customer representatives such as buyers, engineers, and other professional and technical personnel at shipyards, OEM’s, and other businesses, to influence prospective clients of the value and performance of products or services offered.
- Reviews RFQ’s, specifications, drawings, plans, and other customer documents to develop and prepare proposals and quotations.
- Captures and coordinates project management functions for major contracts including contract review and dissemination of flow down requirements, tracking of progress and document submittals.
- Investigates and resolves customer problems such as deliveries.
- Provide customer reporting as needed in a timely and organized manner.
- Work closely with other departments including; operations, quality, supply chain and engineering to assist in resolving issues affecting customers.
- Organize and manage customer program reviews.
- Represent company at industry meetings and trade shows.
- Aid finance with rates, compliance and in resolving collection issues.

- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a rapidly changing environment.
- Very organized and able to work under pressure situations.
- US Citizen and capable of obtaining a government clearance due to the nature of our defense products.
Education & Experience
- Typically requires a minimum level of knowledge that is acquired through a four-year college degree, preferably in Engineering, and Five years related experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Naval defense or maritime industry experience with Knowledge of shipboard fluid systems, pumps and valves preferred.
