Sr. Account Manager - Brand Consulting
About the role
Creative Artists Agency (CAA) is the leading entertainment and sports agency, with global expertise in filmed and live entertainment, digital media, publishing, sponsorship sales and endorsements, licensing, media finance, consumer investing, fashion, trademark licensing, and philanthropy. The CAA Brand Consulting Sr. Account Manager will play a key role in one of our largest Brand Consulting clients, a technology services company. The Sr. Account Manager will be an integral team member on the Baseball portfolio and national/regional/local partnerships in the brand's sponsorship portfolio. The Sr. Account Manager will also work cross-functionally on related sports talent strategy and will partner with creative, experiential, hospitality, and research & insights.
Responsibilities
- Liaise with brand clients and brand’s partner properties, including MLB, Little League, Minor League Baseball and local partners
- Provide strategic leadership, project management, and execution for annual partnerships and tentpole events
- Negotiate incremental and existing partnerships with talent and local & national properties; inclusive of contract and scope management
- Provide industry-wide subject-matter-expertise, including talent, trends, competitors, brands, territories, and events
- Apply cross-functional partnership with CAA Hospitality, Creative, Experiential, and Analytics & Insights Teams
- Manage account finances including budgets, expenses, invoicing, retainer fees, and revenue trackers
- Prepare & deliver executive-facing materials (POVs, strategy, go-to-market plans, run of shows, exec summaries, dashboards, recaps, etc.)
- Manage on-site event logistics and execution, which may include travel throughout the year, nights and weekends to attend events, meetings, perform site visits, etc., and ability to work early mornings and late nights, as needed
- Provide strategic oversight of Talent partnerships for MLB, MiLB, local partnerships and ad hoc partners with broader Talent team
- Drive recommendation, negotiation and management of talent deals – working in partnership with cross functional groups (e.g. Creative, Experiential, Hospitality) for development of talent strategy, executive sell-through, and activation plans
- Manage at least one (1) direct report
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or related discipline
- At least 6-8+ years of experience in marketing and brand partnerships. Work experience in an ad/marketing agency preferred. Live event experience a plus
- General understanding of current brand consulting industry and the nature of a talent agency
- Proactive and solutions-oriented with ability to pivot and take on new tasks quickly
- Must have experience managing at least one person including writing/delivering performance reviews, managing workload and providing constructive feedback
- Able to prioritize multiple projects with ease, manage deadlines, coordinate key timelines and perform under pressure with strong attention to detail
- Polished written and verbal communication skills with ability to build strong relationships both internally and externally
- Interest, knowledge and passion for sports, entertainment and pop culture
- Technologically Savvy (MS PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, Keynote, Photoshop, Google Slides/Sheets/Docs, Slack). Social Media/Digitally versed
Preferred Skills
- Previous experience with leading/managing Talent deals and Talent-led programming
Location
This role is based in Seattle, Washington.
Pay
The annual base salary for this position is in the range of $89,000 to $130,000. This position also is eligible for benefits and discretionary bonus.
