SQL Server Database Administrator

Roles And Responsibilities

• Install, configure, upgrade, patch and maintain Microsoft SQL Server (2019–2022) in production, non-production, and DR environments.
• Manage Always On Availability Groups, Failover Cluster Instances (FCI), Replication, and Log Shipping.
• Manage AWS RDS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, DocumentDB, DynamoDB on hybrid platforms.
• Have good experience in migrating SQL Server On-Prem databases to Cloud RDS/Aurora.
• Analyze and tune query performance, indexes, execution plans, and blocking/deadlock issues.
• Design and manage backup and restore strategies as per the RTO/RPO strategies.

Mandatory Skills

• SQL Server Database Administration: SQL Server Database Administration (8 - 10 years)
• High Availability/Disaster Recovery: High Availability/Disaster Recovery (5+ years)
• AWS RDS (SQL Server, Postgresql, DocumentDB and DynamoDB): AWS RDS (SQL Server, Postgresql, DocumentDB and DynamoDB) (5+ years)
• Performance Tuning: Performance Tuning (5+ years)
• Automations using PowerShell, T-Sql: Automations using PowerShell, T-Sql (5+ years)

Pay

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
