SQL Developer II
Key Responsibilities
- Designs, develops, and maintains Oracle PL/SQL procedures, functions, packages, and APIs to support enterprise applications.
- Analyzes and optimizes existing database code, including reviewing and documenting database objects such as tables, views, indexes, triggers, and sequences.
- Writes and tunes SQL queries to automate business and operational processes, improving efficiency and performance.
- Affords assistance in troubleshooting, testing, and performance tuning of database components to ensure system stability and reliability.
- Collaborates with software developers, business analysts, and technical teams to implement database enhancements and process improvements.
- Creates and maintains technical documentation for database processes, code changes, and data flows.
- Supports data analysis and report generation to meet business and operational needs within the utility domain.
- Participates in code reviews, follows development standards, and stays current with emerging database technologies, especially Oracle PL/SQL.
Required Qualifications
- 1–2 years of experience with Oracle PL/SQL development, including stored procedures, functions, and package creation.
- Proficiency in SQL query writing, optimization, and performance tuning.
- Experience with relational database concepts such as indexing, normalization, and schema design.
- Familiarity with database objects like triggers, views, sequences, and data modeling.
- Ability to work in a remote environment supporting enterprise systems in the utility sector.
- Work authorization to work in the US.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with real-time data processing and analytics in the energy or utility domain.
- Knowledge of network protocols such as TCP/UDP for real-time applications.
- Familiarity with version control tools like Git.
- Exposure to data visualization and reporting tools such as Power BI or SSRS.
- Understanding of scripting languages and web technologies (e.g., HTML, JavaScript) is a plus.
