SPS Technician (Noncertified)

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of processing duties including: decontamination, sterilization, supply, case cart assembly and packaging.
• Fulfills all requirements for documentation to ensure the department is able to distribute high quality sterile products in an efficient manner to effectively meet the requirements of its customers.
• Maintains a thorough knowledge of instrumentation, equipment, utilization, and sterile processing.
• Runs the floor independently in the absence of the supervisor, performing and delegating assigned duties.
• Works in collaboration with the O.R. to provide patient required instrumentation.

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Current "Sterile Processing Distribution Technician Certification" from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution Inc. (CBSPD) required or ability to become certified within 18 months of hire.
• One year experience in Central Sterile Supply preferred.
• Ability to read, write and speak English required.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.

• One year experience in Central Sterile Supply preferred.

Schedule

• M-F, evening shift, 3:00p-11:30p.
• Weekend on call rotation.
