Sprinkler Install Fitter
Key Responsibilities
- Install overhead sprinkler piping, standpipe systems, sprinkler system risers, and specialty fire protection systems including wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge systems.
- Assemble and install various system components including hangers, valves, fittings, backflow prevention, bells, drains, fire pump and stored water supply, and other components of fire sprinkler systems according to design plans.
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout and installation requirements of fire sprinkler systems.
- Measure and cut piping materials, such as steel, copper, and CPVC, to specified lengths and dimensions using cutting tools and equipment.
- Collaborate with other construction trades, such as plumbers, electricians, and HVAC technicians, to coordinate installation activities and ensure compatibility with other building systems.
- Test and inspect newly installed fire sprinkler systems to verify proper operation and compliance with design specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Attend scheduled in-house meetings/training and contribute recommendations for improvement.
- Aid in the development and training of fire sprinkler apprentices, in good installation procedures in order to create and maintain a high degree of professionalism and safety practices.
- Provide technical consultation and support to company apprentices, technicians, designers and shop employees.
- Respond to other duties/responsibilities that are assigned by the Superintendent and Project Foreman.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required. Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in fire protection and/or plumbing. Must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Must be able to pass a background check and drug test. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in confined spaces. Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and drawings. Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed.

Must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Must be able to follow safety guidelines and protocols. Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and deadlines.
Skills

Pay
$45,000 - $55,000 annually.
Schedule
Full-time position with flexible hours to accommodate project needs. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
