Responsibilities
- Interpret and apply applicable NFPA standards to the design and/or layout of sprinkler systems based on building type, construction type, hazard classification, and architectural features.
- Design and layout sprinkler systems using specialized CAD software packages based on the AutoCAD platform; coordinate sprinkler system piping with other building components and perform hydraulic calculations.
- Perform field checks of completed designs to verify accuracy.
- Work closely with district contracting teams to understand customer contracts, schedule the design process, and meet the delivery needs of the installation crew; coordinate deliveries of system materials to the job site to align with the installation start date.
- Mentor others in the accurate execution of sprinkler design using acquired experience, proficiency, and knowledge.
- Assist sales in design estimates.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- At least 1-5 years of fire sprinkler design experience.
- Working experience with AutoCAD, HydraCAD, Sprinkler Design Software, or equivalent sprinkler design software.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to solve basic math problems, including geometry and algebra.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Office, Sprinkler Design Software, and a hydraulic calculation program.
- Interpret and apply applicable NFPA standards for Automatic Sprinkler System Layout.
- NICET Level III in Water-Based Systems Layout.

Pay
Hiring hourly range: $36.58–$54.85. The hourly rate will be determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
