Job Responsibilities
- Installation of fire sprinkler systems in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings
- Service, trouble-shooting, and maintenance of automatic fire sprinkler systems and related equipment
- Oversee, direct, and delegate tasks to fitters and helpers as needed to meet project deadlines and goals
- Complete assigned projects within budget and timeline
- Ensure flawless execution of projects
- Thread and groove pipe, cut hangers, climb ladders, hang pipe, read blueprints, layout, keep work area clean, and use appropriate equipment
- Present weekly tool box talks to employees
- Create and maintain daily installation progress notes on job contract drawings (asbuilts)
- Communicate change orders to the fire sprinkler manager and project manager for approval
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- American Fire Sprinkler Association training program
- Nicet II & III certification preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Fire Sprinkler Foreman
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a fire sprinkler apprentice/fitter
Qualifications
- Knowledge of fire sprinkler piping systems and fabrication
- Understanding of fire protection installation requirements
- Ability to read and interpret fire protection blueprints
- Valid state driver’s license and good driving record
- Self-motivated, ambitious, interactive, communicative, detail-oriented, and organized
- Knowledgeable with NFPA 13 rules and all necessary codes
- Ability to interact and communicate professionally with other trades, customers, project managers, county officials, general contractors, etc.
- Positive team work and ability to lead and mentor others
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Comply with all company safety practices and the safety handbook
