Spotter

About the role

Waste Connections is looking for a safety conscious spotter at our Travis County Landfill to join our team in Austin, TX. This is a full-time, long-term position with a reputable company. The spotter's main priority is to give clear verbal and non-verbal direction to truck drivers entering the Landfill to ensure safe and efficient traffic flow. You will also assist in the scale house twenty percent of the time.

Responsibilities

• Spotting trucks
• Cleaning equipment
• Picking up litter
• General site cleanup
• Driving employees to their work stations
• Performing other assigned duties at the landfill

Requirements

• At least 2 years of work experience, preferably in a labor type position
• The ability to continually lift up to 50 lbs. repeatedly throughout an 8 hr. shift
• Ability to work in all weather conditions throughout entire shift

Qualifications

• Experience operating equipment is a plus
• Mechanical ability is a plus
