Job Purpose
Move empty and loaded trailers to and from docks.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Move empty and loaded trailers.
- Use landing gear to drop trailers.
- Open and close swinging trailer doors and rise and lower roll up doors.
- Climb in trailers to identify freight.
- Communicate with LTL drivers as they come into the yard and indicate where to put their trailers.
- Communicate with outside carriers to what dock doors they should put their trailers in.
- Yard checks.
- Do PM checks on spotter weekly.
- Inspect and red tag out of service trailers and defective equipment.
- Work on trailers, mud flaps, marker lights, turn signals, etc.
- Other tasks as assigned by manager.
Additional Responsibilities
- The ability to drive and maintain the spotter, hook up to trailers move them from dock to yard or yard to docks.
- To be safety conscious.
- Transfer trailers between RJW locations when needed.
Qualifications
- Good driving record.
- Valid CDL driver's license with 6-month minimum experience.

Requirements
- High School Diploma or general education diploma (GED).
Physical Demands
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Physically fit to climb in and out of the spotter.
- Must be able to activate phone systems utilizing keyboards and buttons.
- Must be articulate and comfortable speaking in front of others.
- Regularly works in an indoor/office environment and required to sit and/or use repetitive hand motion.
- Frequently required to talk, hear, stand and walk.
- Must be able to work in excess of continuous 8 hours when required.
- Must be able to work under stressful situations, have good cognitive skills, maintain work accuracy, and the ability to concentrate on more than one task at a time.
- Must have the ability to read and discern visual images on a variety of media with 20/20 corrected vision.
- Must be able to speak and communicate clearly over telephones.
- Must be in sound physical health as determined by a certified licensed physician with no evidence of the use of controlled substances.
