Essential Functions
- Provide a safe environment for the member.
- Ensure the general appearance and cleanliness of the facilities.
- Acquire and maintain required courses and certifications through the YMCA.
- See that all participants are using the facilities correctly.
- Help participants by answering questions to the best of your ability and within your scope of practice.
- Build effective, authentic relationships with members; help members connect with each other and the YMCA.
- Have all required paperwork completed and filled out appropriately.
- Educate members on your specific sports and skills.
- Alert the coordinator or director if any problems occur.
- Respond to challenges with possible solutions in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- Possess a high level of interest in the sport, either by playing or coaching at the club, high school, or college level for numerous years.
- Have the necessary skills to train clients to improve in their sport.
- Have great knowledge of rules, development, skills, and fundamentals of the sport.
- Have background knowledge of basic, intermediate, and advanced drills to tailor personalized development programs for all populations.
- Be certified in CPR/FA within 30 days of hire.
- Regularly update knowledge of the sport.
- Be able to stand, bend, and perform appropriate tasks.
- Be active and able to move at an appropriate pace to respond to emergencies.
- Follow all safety requirements of the Salina Family YMCA.
- Work in different temperature environments.
