Sports Pastor - Chandler

CCV Stars is a year-round, rapidly growing, multi-site outreach ministry of CCV that exists to connect the community through sports. Stars provides a comprehensive program that develops players' skills while supporting parents to build character and integrity, making sports more than a game. As the largest youth sports program of its kind, CCV Stars serves over 20,000 youth participants annually, offering various levels of flag football and soccer throughout the year.

About the Role

The Stars Pastor will oversee all aspects of their campus’ sports ministry, including managing the volunteers necessary to execute programs. This role requires a variable schedule, including approximately two nights a week and Saturdays on the fields during the season.

Responsibilities

• Ministry:
  • Reinforce the mission of Stars to move people across the parking lot to CCV.
  • Build relationships with Stars families and coaches.
  • Guide coaches and volunteers to grow in their next steps.
  • Ensure "More Than A Game" elements (huddles, cards, prayer) are implemented.
  • Help integrate the Stars ministry with other CCV ministries.
• Programming:
  • Recruit and train volunteers for coaching, guest services, and field operations.
  • Implement and execute leagues and camps (team creation, scheduling, maps, referees, etc.).
  • Communicate updates and promotions regularly with Stars families.
  • Support volunteer coaches during practices and games.
  • Promote Stars through local community, schools, and city functions.
• Operations:
  • Ensure facilities are ready for practices and games (signage, equipment, fields/courts, restrooms).
  • Manage and steward facility and equipment/inventory.
  • Oversee safety and quality of the facility, handling minor repairs and coordinating with landscapers.
• Miscellaneous:
  • Multitask and manage time effectively, often working on 2-3 seasons simultaneously.
  • Assist with non-Stars related campus-wide events.

Qualifications

• College experience preferred.
• Previous leadership experience highly desired.
• Coaching and Stars experience are assets.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
