Sports Medicine Territory Manager (Charleston SC)

At Smith+Nephew we design and manufacture technology that takes the limits off living. As a Sports Medicine Territory Manager, you will be a product consultant in the Sports Medicine product portfolio specializing in soft tissue injury repair and degenerative conditions of the shoulder, knee, hip, and small joints.

Responsibilities

  • Convert physicians/accounts by making sales calls and providing clinical case coverage in the operating room.
  • Train surgeons on Smith+Nephew products through education and programs in your territory.
  • Collaborate with key orthopedic surgeons, hospital and OR staff, administrators, and clinicians.
  • Work cross-divisionally to increase awareness and adoption of products including the Sports Medicine product portfolio.
  • Develop an effective territory business plan to generate revenue and meet or exceed quota.
  • Provide first-class technical support to ensure product availability meets customer and patient needs.
  • Partner with Smith+Nephew Reconstruction and Sports Medicine counterparts in the region to discover sales opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 4-6 years of direct sales experience, with 2-4 years in the medical device industry preferred.
  • Experience selling technology and/or capital products to multiple call points in hospitals, including surgeons, nursing, administration, facilities, bio-med, and information systems preferred.
  • Proven track record selling or converting business at the surgeon or hospital level.
  • Proven success in achieving quota year over year.
  • Experience leading or mentoring team members and new sales representatives.
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and resourceful with a passion for forming relationships to increase sales revenue and impact patient outcomes.
  • Proficiency in Sports Medicine surgical procedures.
  • Must successfully complete the credentialing process and comply with healthcare facility requirements, including adherence to any established vaccine protocols.

Travel Requirements

  • Travel within designated sales territory with 2-4 overnights per month, depending on geography.
  • Infrequent national travel for events and conferences.
