The Sports Medicine Coordinator (Athletic Trainer) will conduct the day-to-day operations of the sports medicine program. He/she ensures that sports medicine services are provided according to the policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of services. The coordinator is responsible for staffing a sufficient number of qualified and competent persons to provide care/service and assures the qualifications and competence of those staff members meet the needs of the program. The coordinator will be responsible for the oversight of the community outreach program, development and coordination of special events and other special events assigned. The coordinator provides input to the hospital administration regarding space/equipment recommendations, budgetary needs, revenue tracking system, and other resources needed by the department. Strategic initiatives and relationships will also be managed by the coordinator in order to ensure the continued growth and success of the sports medicine service line.
Responsibilities
- Staff a sufficient number of qualified and competent personnel to provide care/service.
- Oversee the community outreach program.
- Develop and coordinate special events and other assigned special events.
- Provide input to hospital administration on space/equipment recommendations, budgetary needs, revenue tracking system, and other department resources.
- Manage strategic initiatives and relationships to ensure continued growth and success of the sports medicine service line.
