Sports & Childcare Program Director - Wildwood YMCA

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent preferred.
• One to two years related experience preferred.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Completion of YMCA program-specific certifications required.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.

Essential Functions

• Directs and supervises program activities to meet the needs of the community and fulfill YMCA objectives.
• Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs staff and volunteers as needed. Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
• Establishes new program activities and expands program within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans.
• Affords assistance in the marketing and distribution of program information, may organize and schedule program registrations. May review and process program scholarship applications.
• Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations.
• Develops and monitors program budget to meet fiscal objectives.
• Captures and schedules facility use for program activities and events.
• Affords assistance in YMCA fund raising activities and special events.
• Models relationship-building skills in all interactions. Responds to all member and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.
• Affords assistance with Program Committee meetings.
• Compiles program statistics. Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation in programs.
• Schedules and organizes athletic fields and facilities.
• Organizes and conducts parent orientation meetings.
• Organizes and conducts coaches training and meetings.
• Creates teams from paid and financially assisted registrations.
• Distributes team practice and game schedules.
• Trains and schedules sports officials.
• Distributes sports rules, guidelines and handbooks.
• Purchases and distributes team uniforms and awards.
• Distributes team photographs.
• Organizes and hosts season parties and events.
• Transports and sets up equipment for games and practices.
• Maintains and purchases necessary sporting equipment.
• Organizes and conducts sports clinics.
• Manages, directs and coordinates child care programs. Ensures high quality programs and implements program enhancements and initiatives.
• Ensures all components of the Child Care & Camp Staff Recruitment & Retention Plan are implemented.
• Develops child care budget utilizing the association budget guidelines. Ensures programs operate within budget and program fees are collected.
• Maintains proper records and files at all times.
• Affords assurance of compliance with federal, state and local regulations, including ADA accommodations where appropriate.
• Ensures YMCA child care program standards are met and safety procedures followed.
• Provides for upkeep and safety of assigned program facilities and equipment. Ensure physical environment supports healthy living.
• Develops and maintains positive, genuine relationships with state authorities, school administration, families and community agencies.
• Participates as an active member of the Program Management Teams.
• Affords assistance in the marketing and distribution of program information.
• Compiles program statistics. Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation in program.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
