Spiritual Care Coordinator
Job Description Summary
We provide direct pastoral care and spiritual support to patients, family members/significant others, and staff. This includes developing a "parish" within the hospital, leading invocations, crisis intervention, and representing OhioHealth Mission & Ministry.
Responsibilities And Duties
60% - Provides ongoing, "hands-on" ministry to patients, families, and staff, including spiritual care, prayer, sacramental ministry, and responding to codes.
20% - Serves as a contact person or liaison between local clergy, patients, families, and staff. Assists in responding to requests for workshops, lectures, etc., from hospital/church/community. Assists in providing a variety of worship services and overseeing the ministry of volunteer chaplains.
10% - Shares rotation of all "on-call" responsibilities as needed.
10% - Participates as a member of interdisciplinary teams and serves on select hospital committees.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree
Three years ministry experience
Comfortable in providing inclusive ministry in a broadly ecumenical and interfaith setting
Additional Job Description
Knowledge of pastoral care skills, especially as practiced within the hospital setting and in crisis situations.
