What You Will Do
- Review physician's referral (prescription), patient's condition, medical history, and submitted medical records to determine speech therapy treatment
- Evaluate patients' speech and or swallowing through various standardized tests and clinical observations and evaluate findings to develop treatment programs
- Develop a treatment plan for patients with specific goals and tasks
- Plan and prepare written treatment program based on evaluation of patient and incorporate proper interventions that can help patients’ speech and or swallow deficits
- Evaluate effects of treatment at various stages and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit
- Record treatment, responses, and progress in the patient’s electronic medical record and prepare reports as indicated by licensure, the provider, and or insurance recommendations
- Instruct patient and family in treatment procedures to be continued at home
- Complete documentation per clinical / department guidelines and meets expectations of monthly department chart audits
- Promote/educate Organizations Rehabilitation programs to referring physicians, healthcare providers, and or co-workers by performing in-services and/or marketing activities
- Reduce cancel/no-show rates to improve quality of care and patient outcomes
- Achieve the established average monthly patient care productivity metric
Education Qualifications
- Master's Degree Required
Skills And Abilities
- Ability to utilize therapy equipment in an outpatient rehabilitation setting to provide treatment and procedures
- Punctual and dependable for assigned/confirmed shifts
- Ability to respect cultural and religious practices of patients
Licenses and Certifications
- Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology - South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation Required
- Basic Life Support Certified - American Heart Association within 30 Days Required
- Certificate of Clinical Competence - American Speech-Language-Hearing Association within 2 Years Required
