Speech Therapist, Home Care
About the role
The position to which you are applying is represented by a collective bargaining unit, Massachusetts Nurses Association. At Mass General Brigham Home Care, you’ll build meaningful relationships, use your clinical expertise, and make a difference where patients feel most at home. As a Speech‑Language Pathologist, you’ll have the independence to manage your patients and schedule, without giving up the support of a strong team. Join our Tanner City team. Most of your visits will be in Hathorne, Lynnefield, Middleton, Peabody, Andover, Topsfield, Boxford, Hamilton, Wentham, Bedford, Billerica, Burlington, Concord, Lawrence, Lexington, Lincoln, Reading, Stoneham, Tewksbury, Wakefield, Wilmington, Winchester, Woburn. You’ll work with a diverse patient population and provide speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing services where patients live every day.
Why you’ll like this team: You have independence, but you’re never on your own. A schedule that works for you: part‑time (32‑hours), Monday–Thursday or Tuesday‑Friday with no evenings, weekends or holidays, with the autonomy to manage your own schedule and appointments while providing care to patients in their homes. Ancillary support services: scheduling coordinators, liaisons, and other support services help with the administrative and coordination needs of care, allowing you to spend more time focused on your patients. Strong team culture: work alongside a collaborative team that values communication, teamwork, and supporting one another. Weekly conference meetings, monthly team meetings, and quarterly in‑person team days help keep the team connected. Support to grow: ongoing training, education, and opportunities to collaborate across disciplines.
A strong start matters: Home care can be a big transition, especially if you’re coming from a hospital, outpatient, school, or other clinical setting. Our onboarding is designed to help you feel prepared and confident working independently in the community. You’ll also have ongoing opportunities for training, education, and professional development.
Your time matters, too: Your schedule includes dedicated time for documentation, chart review, care coordination, and treatment planning. Our MGB electronic documentation system gives you easy access to medical records, doctors’ notes, orders, and other clinical information, helping make communication and care coordination more seamless.
Your safety matters: We provide safety resources to support you in the field, including GPS‑enabled safety tools, real‑time alert features, and security‑supported key fob access.
