Speech Pathologist (Outpatient), Per Diem, Day Shift
About the role
Provides diagnostic, therapeutic and consultative services to patients with communication, cognitive and swallowing disorders. Adheres to state and federal regulatory license, certification and accrediting requirement guidelines. Serves as an integral member of the interdisciplinary care team.
Responsibilities
- Immediately notifies charge nurses, managers and house supervisors of significant problems or unusual incidents, such as physician/patient occurrences and crises requiring administrative intervention.
- Intervenes when appropriate.
- Participates in clinical education by supervising student interns, clinical affiliates and Clinical Fellowships (CFYs) as needed.
- Serves as an educational resource to personnel and broader community.
- Affords assessments, plans, implements and evaluates speech therapy for pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
- Sets patient care priorities. Assigns patient care activities to appropriate personnel based on job description skills and capabilities, scope of practice and level of competency.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Education and Work Experience: Master's Degree: Required Two years' speech language pathology experience: Preferred
- Licenses/Certifications: Speech Pathologist licensure in the state of practice: Required Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC): Required Facility Specific License/Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP): Required

Pay
The estimated base pay for this position is $44.86 to $67.23. Additional individual compensation may be available for this role through differentials, extra shift incentives, bonuses, etc. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package, and a comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions.
