Speech & Language Therapist, Rehabilitation, Full Time, Day

Position Summary

To provide quality goal-directed Speech and Language Pathology (SLP) evaluation, treatment, and discharge planning to patients in a variety of age groups with cognitive, communication, and/or swallowing disabilities.

Education

• Graduation from a speech therapy accredited program with a Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Sciences, Communication Disorders or related areas.

Experience

• At least 1 year of experience in an acute care hospital, nursing home, school situation, or rehabilitation facility in the field of speech therapy.
• Some home care experience preferred.

Special Skills

• Current certification by the American Association of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ASHA) in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent.
• Maintains current state of New Jersey license in Speech-Language Pathology.
• May be a CFY candidate.
• Curreyt and valid CPR certification.
• Ability to perform work accurately and give attention to details.
• Ability to use effective critical thinking and analytical skills.
• Ability to use effective time management to set priorities and perform job-related responsibilities.
• Ability to communicate and interact with the health-system, patients, family members, and multidisciplinary team members.
• Ability to function competently in a changing work environment related to changing patient needs.
