Responsibilities
- Assists the speech-language pathologist with speech-language and hearing screening assessments, examinations, and testing (without clinical interpretation of results)
- Records speech, language, and swallowing irregularities as directed by the supervising speech-language pathologist
- Documents or records information on the treatment, performance, progress, and discharge of students
- Executes specific components of a speech and language program as specified in an individualized treatment plan
- Implements augmentative or alternative communication methods and instruction, including automated devices, computer technology, and sign language
- Teaches the use of these methods to students with little or no speech capability or who have limited English proficiency
- Performs clerical duties, as directed by the speech-language pathologist
- Collects data
- Exhibits compliance with regulations, reimbursement requirements, and speech-language pathology assistant's job responsibilities
- Supports the supervising speech-language pathologist in research projects, in-service training, and public relations programs
Qualifications
- Speech-Language Pathology Assistant License
- Community College and/or Vocational School degree with study in job related area
- Fingerprint and Background Check Clearance
- Pre-employment proficiency test
- CPR/First Aid
- Valid Driver's License and Evidence of Insurability

Salary with Bachelor's degree - $53,099
Salary without Bachelor's degree - $50,710
