About the Role
The Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) will work under the supervision of a licensed speech-language pathologist to provide direct speech and language support services to eligible students. Responsibilities include implementing treatment plans, documenting student progress, assisting with screening, assessment data collection, and preparation of instructional materials. This role is vital in improving student communication skills and ensuring that IEP goals are met in a timely and supportive manner. The SLPA may provide services across multiple school sites.
- Conduct speech and language screenings
- Document therapy sessions and support therapy-related data collection
- Maintain confidentiality and professional communication
- Utilize therapy equipment and manage data effectively
Requirements
- Associate degree from an approved SLPA program, including specific coursework, general education credits, and at least 100 hours of clinical experience
- Possess or be eligible to obtain certification as a Speech Language Pathology Assistant through the Oregon Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology Board
- At least two years of experience working in pediatric or school-based settings
- Valid Oregon driver's license
- Current first aid certification preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with educators, students, and families
- Comfort with data documentation and instructional technology

Pay
Salary range: $23.86-$32.46 per hour, depending upon verified previous full-time experience in a similar position. This position includes 182 contract days per year at 8 hours per day.
