Elementary Speech Language Pathology Assistant- SLPA

Local Clinical Manager support, CCC or CF preferred. Competitive W2 hourly compensation ($40–$45 DOE) covering both direct and indirect service hours, with guaranteed hours available.

About the role

Working under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), you assist in implementing evidence-based interventions that enhance students’ communication skills and success in their educational environment. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team across school settings, supporting teachers, administrators, families, and related service providers to deliver high-quality speech-language services.

Responsibilities

• Assist the SLP in conducting speech and language screenings using established protocols without interpretation.
• Implement speech and language therapy activities designed by the SLP that align with students’ IEP goals and educational needs.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate speech and language strategies into the educational curriculum.
• Prepare therapy materials and equipment for classroom and therapy activities based on student needs.
• Document student progress toward established objectives and report to the supervising SLP.
• Maintain accurate records of student assessments, interventions, and progress.
• Participate in team meetings and professional development activities to stay current with best practices.
• Assist in organizing classroom activities, including preparing educational materials and maintaining an orderly learning environment.
• Support early intervening services by participating in multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) or response to intervention (RTI) initiatives under SLP guidance.
• Use assistive technology devices for communication as directed by the SLP.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in speech-language pathology
• Current Texas SLPA license
• Prior experience in Texas school settings required
