Speech Language Pathology Assistant Part Time

About the role

We are looking for highly motivated Speech Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) to join our expanding therapy team. The SLPA will support licensed Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) in implementing speech therapy programs for individuals with various speech and language disorders, working directly with patients to carry out therapy plans, monitor progress, and assist in administrative tasks. This is a part-time or PRN position with flexible hours based on department or patient needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care within your scope, following the treatment plan.
• Assist in implementing speech therapy plans under SLP supervision.
• Monitor and document patient progress and response to treatment.
• Educate patients, clients, and caregivers as needed.
• Complete visit documentation, including progress and clinical notes, promptly.
• Follow infection control and safety protocols.
• Communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, and the healthcare team.
• Meet continuing education requirements and participate in in-service training.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant payor requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Graduate from a Speech Language Pathology Assistant program with a Bachelor’s degree (or higher) with an emphasis in Speech-Language Pathology or Audiology.
• Current Texas State License as an SLPA.
• CPR Certification.
• Recent work experience in Home Health (preferred).
• 2 years of experience as an SLPA in an acute care or rehabilitation setting.
• Valid Driver’s License (required).
• Car Insurance & registration (required).

Skills

• Knowledge of speech therapy techniques, exercises, and tools.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
• Ability to observe, document, and report patient progress accurately.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and therapy plans.
• Strong clinical assessment, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
• Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
• Highly self-motivated and results-driven.

Schedule

Availability for after-school hours, starting at 3:30 PM and continuing into the evening.
